Miyajima, just off the coast of Hiroshima, welcomes visitors from around the world while staying deeply rooted in its traditions.


This tour invites you to experience the island at a slower pace, guided by a local who knows its stories, flavors, and hidden corners.


Meet your host at the Miyajima Ferry Terminal in Hiroshima and travel together by ferry to the island. After arriving, stop at the statue of Taira no Kiyomori to learn about his role in shaping Miyajima’s history and spiritual importance.


Stroll through the island’s charming streets and visit local food spots selected by your guide. Taste freshly prepared oysters, sample Hiroshima-style fish cake, and sip lemonade made with fragrant lemons from the Seto Inland Sea.


Along the way, interact with shop owners and vendors who proudly share their craft and regional ingredients.


Visit the iconic Itsukushima Shrine, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its striking presence over the water. Your guide will explain its unique architectural features and cultural significance as you take in the scenery.


To end on a sweet note, join a hands-on workshop to bake momiji manju, Hiroshima’s beloved maple leaf-shaped snack.


Enjoy it warm before returning to the Miyajima Pier Ferry Terminal to say goodbye to your host.
