Our cooking class with Midori was absolutely fantastic and a truly unique experience! She was so warm and welcoming and took care of all our wishes. We learned so much about Japanese cooking, had a wonderful time in her kitchen, and the food was delicious. This was one of the highlights of our trip to Kyoto. Thank you so much, Midori! Arigato from both of us! ❤️

Hands down, one of the BEST experiences I’ve had in Japan so far!
Our hosts were incredibly warm, welcoming, and kind, making us feel right at home. We started with a beautiful traditional Japanese tea ceremony, followed by making all FOUR types of ramen ourselves! It was such a fun and memorable hands-on experience. They even surprised us with freshly prepared sushi!
The sweetest part was the ending: our host personally wrote each of our names in Japanese on beautiful postcards for us to take home. Such a thoughtful keepsake!
You can truly feel their passion for Japanese culture and genuine hospitality. I enjoyed every moment and wholeheartedly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Osaka.
Thank you for giving us such a beautiful memory. Definitely a highlight of my Japan trip!

The Best Cultural Experience in Osaka!Taking Katsuji’s ramen class was such a special experience! He welcomed my friend Rachel and me into his home with so much warmth and immediately made us feel comfortable. He guided us through making shoyu, miso, tonkotsu, and curry ramen. Every variety was delicious, and getting to prepare and taste the different styles made the experience even more enjoyable.
What made the class especially memorable was Katsuji himself. He shared little glimpses of his life and made us feel completely at home. Despite the language barrier, we connected so easily that it felt like spending time with a new friend. He also wrote each of us a beautiful personalized Japanese note with our names and a sweet message, which I’ll treasure.
I left with a full stomach and wonderful memories. I would happily visit Katsuji again and take another cooking class next time I’m in the area!

It was such a wonderful evening! Really, really recommend doing a tour with Hiroshi. He is so welcoming and knowledgeable. The walk around Gion was so interesting! He opened my eyes to so many details. The food was lovely and he kept it gluten free on request, which I appreciate so much! I would not have known what to order without his help. Thank you Hiroshi, I hope to be able to join another of your tours in the future.

AMAZING experience! Highly recommend to anyone interested in wasabi (or a fun getaway from Tokyo). David is knowledgeable about a multitude of topics and his generosity was greatly appreciated. Both varieties of wasabi are insanely delicious (and he let us eat a lot of it!).

Midori sensei is a wonderful host! I learned the key facts about Tonkatsu and can't wait to try it at home. The instructions were so helpful: Many thanks again for the great evening!
I really recommend this cooking class if you would like to learn about a dish that is also super popular in Japan just as Ramen! 😃

My friends and I enjoyed an incredible evening with Hiro on a food tour around Kyoto. He was gracious enough to accommodate two dietary restrictions for parts of our group - one pescatarian and one gluten-free in a four-person party - and picked restaurants that had plenty for all of us to enjoy. And beyond that, he was simply a lot of fun to be with and intensely knowledgeable about Kyoto, its history, and its culture. Highly recommended.
