Japanese Fake Food: Food Sample Making Workshop in Tokyo
Cooking Classes
We booked this tour on a recent trip to Japan and it was quite nice. The location is a bit far from Tokyo, so anyone planning this should set aside a day for the round-trip, or plan to stay around the Okutama area. We did ours as a day trip. We met David at the train station and started our walk up to his small farm. The hike is doable but a decent climb uphill on maintained gravel trail. Once at the farm David shares a wealth of knowledge about wasabi, how it grows, how to farm it, and most importantly how to pick and enjoy it. We sat down with some warm tea and grated fresh wasabi which we were able to try on its own as well as with some roast beef. It was both an enjoyable and educational tour.
