Description
Good to Know
At Akanezaka Onuma, diners are invited into a serene sanctuary in Tokyo’s Akasaka district where exquisite seasonal flavors and refined hospitality meet. Chef Onuma draws inspiration from his Yamagata upbringing, incorporating vegetables grown by his family and crafting dishes that gently follow the rhythm of the seasons.
Located on the third floor of the Akasaka Keiwa Building, the restaurant features an intimate counter of eight seats and four private rooms, creating a calm setting ideal for private gatherings and special occasions. Each course unfolds thoughtfully—from delicate appetizers and clear soups to signature rice dishes—reflecting the Japanese philosophy that “less is more.”
The selection of antique tableware, personally chosen by the chef, adds a sense of harmony and depth, turning each dish into a quiet story of its own. As the city’s bustle fades away, guests are welcomed into a moment of stillness, beauty, and flavor that embodies the essence of Japanese dining.
The name “Akanezaka,” meaning “red hill,” evokes a gentle warmth and seasonal glow that capture the restaurant’s soul. For those seeking an elegant, mindful, and deeply authentic kaiseki experience, Akanezaka Onuma offers an unforgettable culinary journey.
