Restaurant Details
Odawara is famous for its castle, but that’s not the only beautiful historic building in town. Daruma opened its doors in the 26th year of the Meiji Era (1893 to you and me) and it enjoys distinguished status as a national cultural heritage site. The building is designed in a style reminiscent of a shrine.
Inside they serve seafood sourced fresh each morning from Odawara Fish Market, turned into dishes such as sashimi, tempura, and sushi rolls. Seasonal dishes also come and go throughout the year. The seasonal showcase set meal is a little pricier than the other options, but for the number of dishes and quality of ingredients included, it’s actually quite a steal deal.
English support is available on the menu, so there’s really no reason not to stop in for a meal at one of Odawara’s oldest restaurants if you find yourself in town.
