Overall great experience, I did it solo and it was a delightful one on one (and a translator) course. I took the class on Christmas and it was a delightful way to enjoy a holiday lunch. You make cute and simple sushi that you can then recreate at home paired with a fresh and crispy tempura medley. A simple and enjoyable learning experience for 2 Japanese classics.

I had an incredible time at this cooking class! The chef was so friendly and gave clear, easy-to-follow explanations, making it fun to cook authentic Japanese dishes myself. The recipes felt like genuine home cooking, and the English translation of the entire cooking class was perfect. The experience was both enjoyable and educational—highly recommend for anyone who loves food or Japanese culture!

Japanese Home Cooking Class in Tokyo (Onigiri & Tamagoyaki)
Cooking Classes
This was a fun and interactive presentation of two of Japan's favorite comfort foods, onigiri and tamagoyaki. Admittedly, I'm not the greatest cook, but with their expert guides I was able to make easy and delicious snacks. I'm confident that with the recipe sheet provided and the right ingredients I could make these at home in the U.S. Participants were encouraged to do all the preparation themselves and with an expert translation we were able to copy the Japanese chef's instructions easily. It was a really nice experience. I would highly recommend.

The hosts were very welcoming and prepared all the ingredients firsthand, and while the chef explained the steps in Japanese, the assistant spoke good English and translated everything, making it easy to follow along with all the instructions. The explanations were clear and thorough, ensuring that even those with little cooking experience could feel confident in preparing the dish. I learned how to make the perfect omurice, from the flavorful fried rice to the smooth, delicate omelette. The highlight, of course, was the food at the end — it was absolutely delicious! The flavors were spot-on, and the whole process was both fun and educational. Highly recommend this class to anyone looking to try their hand at Japanese cooking!
