I had the absolute pleasure of attending the fermentation class today! It was incredibly eye-opening to see how knowledge of miso and other traditional elements can be beautifully applied to everyday cooking. From appetizers and mains to desserts, I was truly amazed by the versatility of these fermented ingredients.
The instructor was exceptionally patient and attentive, taking the time to answer all of my questions with great care. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking to elevate their culinary journey and experience the true magic of fermentation!

Loved the cooking class with Midori. I am gluten intolerant, not coeliac, she was able to accommodate and made sure all food was safe. We made onigiri, gyoza and katsudon, everything was delicious!
Midori San is a great host and we had a lovely chat about a lot of things including Japanese cuisine and places to visit in or around Kyoto. I can definitely recommend!

It was a great learning experience for pur group. We had wanted to learn maki sushi rolling for quite a long time and this experience fulfilled our desire. Tamae was a wonderful instructor and husband Hiroki was always there to support and coach our group. We enjoyed and appreciated their warm hospitality. It is so special when people open up their homes and hearts to share with others.

Every detail—from the origin of the leaves to the subtle differences in processing methods—was explained with such clarity and passion that it transformed each sip into a story. You could tell this wasn’t just expertise; it was a genuine love for the craft.
The tea itself was absolutely exquisite. Each variety we sampled was more nuanced and flavorful than the last, with layers of aroma and taste I had never noticed before. The experience was paired with a thoughtfully prepared selection of food that complemented the teas beautifully. Every bite felt intentional, enhancing the tasting experience and making the whole session feel indulgent without being overwhelming.
What surprised me most was just how fun it all was. This wasn’t a stiff or overly formal class—it was engaging, interactive, and filled with moments of delight and discovery. We laughed, asked questions, compared favorites, and left feeling not only more knowledgeable but genuinely inspired.

Utterly brilliant class, I highly recommend it to everyone and it was an incredible way to get better connected to Japanese culture too, whatever your experience level already!! Not to mention, you learn life-skills, and you get to taste some beyond amazing drinks and food as you work and learn -- huge thank you to the entire team but most of all to my awesome teacher that day!! This cooking class for my fiancé’s birthday was an amazing experience! The husband greeted us with kindness and respect and welcomed us into his beautiful home. His wife was waiting and excited to teach us how to make Sushi ! The food menu was good and it included Sushi, miso soup, vegetable tempura, fresh fruit and even a small treat and a birthday candle for my fiancé’. He was appreciative & very grateful ! You get up an up close & personal cooking lesson and we loved it ! We would definitely recommend the experience at a 10/10 and encourage others to book !
