Dinner with a Maiko in Kyoto

Those lucky enough get to spot the elusive Maiko/Geiko on the move in the streets of Kyoto. It’s a notoriously closed-off practice despite its worldwide fame, as Maiko often perform for private events and select establishments. Get to take a rare look into the historic Maiko/Geiko culture with a delicious Kyoto-style dinner and entertainment from Maiko/Geiko. The experience opens with dinner, featuring a meal from an established Kyoto-style restaurant. The meal will be kaiseki style, featuring seasonal ingredients. You can enjoy the local cuisine paired with the dance performance. While Maiko/Geiko are often praised for their dance performances, their entertainment doesn’t end there, their versatile skill sets include game activities. This experience includes games led by Maiko/Geiko, which guests are encouraged to participate in. You can get the opportunity to get to know maiko culture through the question and answer session, in which Maiko/Geiko will answer any curiosities you might have. If you’re wondering about taking pictures, don’t worry, you’ll have the opportunity to take a commemorative photo with the maiko and are also welcome to take pictures of them. We invite either Maiko or Geiko depending on the day. Please kindly understand that we cannot confirm in advance who will be attending on your participation date.
