Experience Details
Fukuoka’s yatai culture has many beloved stalls. Still, Yatai Keiji stands out thanks to Abe-san, whose lively presence and cooking have helped bring global attention to this local scene.
First opened in 1991, his stall was already a local favorite long before it went viral online. Today, it remains a key part of Fukuoka’s night food culture, where locals and visitors gather around counter seating for simple, flavorful dishes.
In this experience, you step beyond the videos and sit at the counter of Abe-san’s stall. The atmosphere is warm and casual, with the sounds and aromas of a busy yatai surrounding you.
Abe-san and your English-speaking host will welcome you in, share stories, and help you connect with the experience.
You can enjoy a selection of a la carte dishes, including tonkotsu ramen, yakitori skewers, kamameshi, and other seasonal items. Your host will explain the menu and can also recommend must-try dishes if you are unsure what to order.
You will also clink glasses with locals as you settle into the flow of the evening. Two soft drinks are included, with the option to upgrade to alcoholic drinks, including the stall’s signature Donburi Highball, or take part in a ramen-making option if you choose.
This is a relaxed, social experience that lets you enjoy Fukuoka’s yatai culture in its most authentic setting, right alongside the people who helped shape it.
