Experience Details
While the word “sushi” conjures up images of bite-sized nigiri sushi and perfect slices of sashimi, not all types of sushi are made with raw fish. There are actually so many different varieties of sushi in Japan, like hand-rolled balls of sushi (temari-zushi), colorful and creative sushi rolls (maki-zushi), delicious sushi rice topped with vegetables and slivers of egg (chirashi-zushi), and pockets of sweet fried tofu stuffed with sushi rice, veggies, and egg (kazari inari-zushi). Choose between these 4 options in this Sushi Making Class in Ninomiya. Each type is colorful, healthful, and packed with flavor!
And, of course, the foundation of delicious sushi is perfectly steamed and seasoned Japanese short-grain rice. In this class, you’ll also learn how to make delicious umami miso soup from scratch, starting by making the “dashi” soup stock” with bonito and kelp.
There are four menu options to choose from. They all come with miso soup:
(1) Kazari inari-zushi: Pockets of fried tofu stuffed with egg and veggies
(2) Temari-zushi: Hand-rolled sushi balls topped with eggs, fish, and veggies
(3) Chirashi-zushi: Mixed sushi rice topped with colorful veggies and egg
(4) Maki-zushi (with inari-zushi): Stunning hand-rolled sushi rolls, filled with fish, eggs, and vegetables
