Experience Details

If you love sweets, this workshop is for you! In this workshop, you will learn how to make nerikiri - a type of Japanese wagashi (traditional sweet) with the help of a nationally-licensed instructor.

Neiriki has a history dating back 300 years ago and has a strong connection with traditional Japanese tea ceremonies. The sweets are known for their unique designs, often referred to as “edible art”. These designs reflect the four seasons and represent the beauty of nature. The sweets are typically made from white bean paste that is delicately sweet and will melt in your mouth!

With the help of the instructor, you will create these edible art pieces and learn about neiriki. Enjoy this hands-on cultural experience crafting, and eating, this traditional art form.
