Learn how to make colorful vegetarian sushi in this hands-on cooking class in Ninomiya, near Mt. Fuji. Using fresh vegetables and traditional Japanese ingredients, you'll create delicious sushi that is easy to recreate at home.
You can choose from three different sushi menus. The first option combines vegetarian nigiri and maki zushi, featuring sushi topped with tamagoyaki (Japanese omelet) and vegetable-filled rolls made with seasonal ingredients.
The second is vegetarian chirashi zushi, a vibrant sushi rice bowl topped with avocado, nori, lotus root, red ginger, and seasonal herbs.
The third option is vegetarian kazari inari, made with sweet fried tofu pockets filled with sushi rice and finished with decorative vegetable toppings.
No matter which menu you choose, you'll learn the fundamentals of Japanese sushi, including how to prepare and season sushi rice and how to work with a variety of toppings and fillings.
The recipes use simple ingredients and techniques that can easily be recreated in your own kitchen.
