Yuka's class was fantastic! She provided cultural context on shojin ryori traditions which helped bring special meaning to our cooking. I got SO many helpful, practical tips for cooking each element of the meal that I'm so excited to replicate at home. I'm definitely planning on taking more of her classes when I return to Japan in the future.

I had an incredible time learning authentic Nagoya home cooking! Unlike other classes where you just watch and eat, this was completely hands-on, which made a huge difference. Yuko-san and her family were so welcoming that the evening felt more like a warm family gathering than a formal lesson. If you want to experience the true heart of Nagoya’s food culture beyond just sitting in a restaurant, this is the perfect way to do it. I will definitely be making that tebasaki when I get back home!

What truly elevated the entire experience, however, was our teacher. Their depth of knowledge was nothing short of astonishing. Every detail—from the origin of the leaves to the subtle differences in processing methods—was explained with such clarity and passion that it transformed each sip into a story. You could tell this wasn’t just expertise; it was a genuine love for the craft. The tea itself was absolutely exquisite. Each variety we sampled was more nuanced and flavorful than the last, with layers of aroma and taste I had never noticed before. The experience was paired with a thoughtfully prepared selection of food that complemented the teas beautifully. Every bite felt intentional, enhancing the tasting experience and making the whole session feel indulgent without being overwhelming. What surprised me most was just how fun it all was. This wasn’t a stiff or overly formal class—it was engaging, interactive, and filled with moments of delight and discovery. We laughed, asked questions, compared favorites, and left feeling not only more knowledgeable but genuinely inspired. Akito is a very knowledgeable and personable guide. The tea farm and factory tour was educational and fun. We even were joined by his father which was a nice treat. I would highly recommend this tour to any tea lover who wants in depth information and a great tea tasting.

We had such an exceptional experience! A sincere thank you to our host, Kaoru, who thought through every detail end-to-end to ensure a seamless experience. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it - not only the fantastic mochi lesson, but most importantly her company and the time she took to explain mochi's significance in the Japanese culture. This made such a great memory for our trip that our family will cherish for a lifetime. We will book another lesson with Kaoru the next time we are in Tokyo for sure. Thank you again! ❤️

I can't express what an incredible time we had. We visited in October, and despite the cloudy weather, the views from the farm were absolutely breathtaking and something I will never forget. Akito was such an incredible guide! He took the time to answer our questions and share his knowledge about the farm, the factory and tea! He even told us about "tea salad", which is something we now do all the time with out tea leaves 🍃 (But you have to do the tour to learn the secret!) I would do this tour again in a heartbeat, and I urge anyone in the area to take the tour and see all it has to offer!
