Had a great time with Emi-San and Jun-san who were patient, kind and enthusiastic hosts. This class is unique with the combination of mocktails and mochi character making. And it was basically private as there were only the two of us that I booked for. The characters were soo cute and surprisingly easy to make! They will for sure become a fun staple snack for me as someone who has trouble with gluten. Making the three mocktails instead of two was definitely worth it for the variation in flavours and possible alcoholic combinations (if that’s your speed). Super happy with this experience overall!

This was such an amazing experience! If you’re into cooking, Japanese sweets, or are just looking for something fun and unique to do while you’re in Japan I’d definitely recommend booking this tea lesson with Emi. My mom and I booked a private lesson for a small extra charge, and I definitely think it was worth it. This experience is something I’ll be recommending to all family and friends who visit Tokyo.

We had a great experience with our host Kaori. We enjoyed learning about the tea ceremony tradition as well as being instructed on how to make our own matcha tea. This was a fun experience!

Our host, Kaori, was very nice and friendly. She patiently explained the steps for all the participants when it was their turn and answered any questions we had. It was very cool that apart from the actual tea ceremony experience, she also introduced us to some of the history behind tea ceremonies. My partner and I enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone looking to experience a tea ceremony in a traditional building in Kyoto.

The tea ceremony was a delightful experience. Our hostess was incredibly knowledgeable about the art of tea preparation, and she guided us in making our own matcha using the techniques she taught. We were so inspired that we purchased a matcha whisk and matcha powder afterward to continue practicing at home.

We absolutely loved this experience. All three of us (my friend and daughter (adult-age) loved everything about it, the setting, the making of the sweets and tea, the sharing of information/history—most of all, we were so touched by the kind attention given to us by our wonderful teachers: Emiko, Junko, and Ayaka. We felt that they put so much effort preparing and during the session to ensure that we had this lovely time. We would highly recommend it!

What a joy it was to experience the Cute Character Sweets & Tea Mixology Workshop! We were a family of (4), and Emi and her teaching team greeted us with such a warm welcome. The workshop was beautifully decorated with traditional style items that added extra to the whole experience. We had so much fun cooking and creating the dumpling characters with shapes, sizes, colors and details (delicious). Then we had a lesson on how to make the most beautiful drinks, one with cherry blossoms and one with black tea and maple syrup - both were too lovely to drink... but we drank both and what delightful tastes - simply delicious. Emi and her team were the utmost polite ladies and had fun along with us as we moved through our lessons. I would highly recommend this workshop to anyone searching for the perfect treats and tea creation experience. Best of Luck to Emi and her team on continued success with their workshops.

The Mixology class was fun. Class was run by a lovely group of ladies. The drinks were colorful and yummy. They gave us a gift set at the end which I did not expect. Overall, great experience. Only one small issue was we had a trouble finding the building the class was in. A sign on the street would be very helpful.

Kaori provided a lovely and thorough demonstration of a traditional tea ceremony, answered all of our questions, and guided us through the process on our own. The google map link provided on booking was helpful for navigation. When we got to the location, within 5 mins ahead of our reservation time as requested in the confirmation no one was at the front and there was a sign on the door instructing to meet across the alley. When we went there we were instructed to go back, so that was a little confusing but all in all, a good experience.

Explore Gluten-Free Matcha Tea Ceremonies in Japan

When it comes to immersing yourself in traditional Japanese culture while accommodating dietary needs, the Gluten-Free Matcha Tea Ceremony experiences are unbeatable. Japan is renowned not only for its rich cultural heritage but also for its culinary elegance. The tea ceremony, or "chanoyu," epitomizes this intersection of ritual and taste. Whether you're an aficionado of matcha or require gluten-free options, these tea ceremonies offer a perfect blend of both worlds, ensuring that you savor the authenticity without compromising your dietary needs.

Discover the Delicate Art of Matcha Preparation

The tea ceremony is a centuries-old tradition in Japan, celebrated for its intricate preparation and serene ambiance. Participants in these gluten-free matcha tea ceremonies are welcomed into tranquil spaces where every movement is deliberate and ritualistic. The experience is not merely about drinking tea; it involves appreciating the beauty of the instruments, the grace of the host, and the rich, umami flavor of the matcha. With gluten-free wagashi or traditional Japanese sweets served alongside the tea, these ceremonies cater to those with gluten sensitivities without losing the essence of the traditional experience.

Customize Your Experience with Gluten-Free Options

One of the significant benefits of choosing a gluten-free matcha tea ceremony is the customization available for gluten intolerant connoisseurs. Hosts pay particular attention to detail, ensuring that all elements of the tea service are gluten-free, from the ceremonial sweets to the utensils used. This attention guarantees a safe environment for participants. Moreover, these experiences often educate attendees on matcha production and the significance of each ceremonial step, providing a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and culinary arts. This unique blend of cultural depth, visual beauty, and dietary accommodation makes it an exceptional choice for travelers seeking an authentic yet health-conscious adventure in Japan.
