Incredible and very wholesome day with Akito. Akito is an incredible host taking us through the fields, answering all our questions, preparing for us the most beautiful teas and also a factory visit. I could not recommend it more, I hope to be back when I’m next I. Japan

Myself, my husband, and my teenage son enjoyed this tour thoroughly. Masa-san along with two other guides were so warm and knowledgeable. It was no doubt one of our top highlights of our Japan trip. We laughed so much because everybody were so happy and had such a great sense of humor. We laughed through matcha and miso and lunch and castle and history. We learned so much and had so much fun doing it. Such a wonderful place with such kind people. I hope to come back with my daughter soon! Thank you so much Masa-san and your colleagues!!! 🙏

I can't express what an incredible time we had. We visited in October, and despite the cloudy weather, the views from the farm were absolutely breathtaking and something I will never forget. Akito was such an incredible guide! He took the time to answer our questions and share his knowledge about the farm, the factory and tea! He even told us about "tea salad", which is something we now do all the time with out tea leaves 🍃 (But you have to do the tour to learn the secret!) I would do this tour again in a heartbeat, and I urge anyone in the area to take the tour and see all it has to offer!

Learning about gyokuro and Shizuoka’s tea culture was eye-opening. I had never tasted tea prepared this way before. The guide’s pride in her hometown made the day especially enjoyable. The tea terrace was the highlight of the experience. Highly recommended for serious tea fans seeking something off the beaten path.

The private tea session on the mountain terrace was truly special. Tasting gyokuro in such a peaceful setting felt luxurious and unique. The guide was friendly and knowledgeable, striking a good balance between explanation and quiet enjoyment. More shade on the terrace would improve comfort. Overall, a memorable experience for tea lovers.

The tea tour at Shizuoka Farm was great and very informative. Akito is such a down to earth type of guy and explained everything well. We discussed different kinds of tea, visited the farm, took pictures, tried samples, went to factory, roasted tea, and bought some teas. The farm location has a great panoramic views of the hills and the city. The ride was not far from Shizouka station which makes it convenient to go to by bus or car. You will get a free pick up by car on your visit and drop off to the nearest bus stop. I highly recommend this tour.

It was just 2 of us during the tour as it was off peak season for tea plantation. However, it was a very informal and private tour hosted by Akito-san. He was very knowledgeable and informative about tea, the tea plantation and he provided photo and videos to supplement his explanation. Kudos to his command of English which was good. He was also friendly and allowed us to try many types of tea. We really enjoyed the experience.

Spectacular! Fantastic! Exceeded expectations in every way! If you want more from your time in Japan, whether visiting for a short time or a long time resident, this is a MUST DO experience! Akito shares with you his wealth of tea knowledge, an intimate look into Shizuoka tea history and so much more. So glad we booked this experience, definitely one we will remember with every cup of tea we enjoy! Thank you Akito!

We enjoyed a wonderful tour visiting nishio with all the highlights such as a matcha factory tour, making matcha, visiting tea fields, traditional lunch in a traditional japenese restaurant, a miso factory and making our own miso, the castle and a japanese tea house. Masa was the best tour guide accompanied by a member of the tourism center of nishio. They were very friendly, experienced and welcoming. We learned so much about japan and all the specialities of nishio and can truly recommend booking this tour. It is a highlight of our trip to japan and we will always remember this day.

How to Choose a Tea Farm Tour

Tea farm experiences vary from hands-on harvesting activities to guided tastings and behind-the-scenes farm visits. The best option depends on how you'd like to experience Japan's tea culture and how much time you have available.
