Ryotei Sagano
Bask in the truest essence of Japanese culture in one of the most traditional restaurants in all of Fukuoka City, with 2 Michelin stars.
Restaurant Details
The history of Ryotei Sagano is anything but short. It first had its walls up in 1967, and the founding family’s dedication to building the best traditional Japanese restaurant made the place what it is today: a successful ryotei that serves the ultimate traditional kaiseki cuisine. The restaurant doesn’t just consist of a dining area — there’s also a traditional tea room complete with tatami mats as well as a traditional Japanese garden out back.
Located just by the Naka River, this extravagant Japanese restaurant lies in the heart of Fukuoka City. The owner-chef strives to present the best of traditional Japanese cuisine to their guests, and that includes offering seasonal ingredients. The kaiseki menu switches constantly to include seafood that you can only get at that specific time of the year. Organic rice brands are also carefully selected to complement the other locally-sourced ingredients.
To ensure the best dining experience for every guest, sake pairing is also offered so that the flavors complement with the dishes. Ryotei Sagano goes to the extent of reaching out to local breweries to taste their dishes, so they're able to give advice on which sake pairs best with each dish.
