Immerse yourself in the world of Ceylon tea with a hands-on 'Handmade Tea Making Class' at The Tea Cottage Resort. Nestled within a lush, private tea estate in Greenwood Nawalapitiya, this experience takes you through the entire process of artisanal tea production. You will start with a guided walk through the plantation to learn the art of picking 'two leaves and a bud.' Then, under the guidance of our expert tea makers, you will experience the traditional handmade steps: withering, rolling, and drying your own tea leaves. The session concludes with a professional tea-tasting experience where you can savor various premium grades, including black, green and white teas, while enjoying the breathtaking mountain views. It’s a perfect blend of education, culture, and nature.

En english Beautiful cottage nestled in the heart of the tea plantations, with a **peaceful** setting and stunning views over the hills. Greenwood Nature Trails

It was a wonderful experience! The trail was very peaceful and the estate is very nicely maintained. The whole tour took around one hour after which we had the opportunity to take part in a tea tasting session where we got to taste around 16 varieties of tea. We gained a lot of knowledge during our walk and the guide was kind enough to clear all our doubts regarding the cultivation and processing activities. I highly recommend taking part in this as it will definitely make your stay worthwhile!

Superb tasting

The visit begins with a short walk during which I discovered different species of trees and spice plants, then it's time for tasting! I was able to learn how to taste tea and test its different flavors. It was perfect! I really enjoyed this activity. It should be noted that I am a great tea enthusiast.
