Experience Details

Step into a quiet gallery in Osaka where light, texture, and flavor come together.

Your host, an artist inspired by years of visiting Japanese onsen, greets you with a glass of rare, banana-flavored low-alcohol sake. Above, a large washi canopy glows softly, casting gentle shadows that calm the space and draw your attention in.

Beneath this canopy, you begin working with rare Japanese papers, feeling their fibers and subtle textures in your hands. Your host teaches traditional lamp-making techniques designed to create a piece that is both delicate in appearance and structurally strong.

Along the way, you hear about the changing washi industry and the mission to bring a fresh perspective to these historic materials. You are encouraged to adjust the design and shape to reflect your own taste.

As the session unfolds, the canopy shifts into deeper tones. More sake is poured and paired with artisanal cheeses and premium prosciutto, offering a quiet pause before final refinements. The balance of paper, light, and flavor creates a calm, restorative rhythm.

In the final stage, you receive practical guidance on how to position and light your lamp at home to highlight its texture and form. You will also learn simple photography tips to capture it beautifully.

Your finished lamp is packed in a protective box so you can take it home safely.

This experience brings together craft, flavor, and atmosphere, leaving you with a handmade lamp and a fresh way to see how light can transform a space.
