Shizuoka Prefecture prides itself in its leading tea production and fresh ingredients, and this dining experience combines both to give you a taste of some of Shizuoka's most refined flavors. Led by Chefs Akahori and Suguro and a chashi tea master, you will savor an assortment of dishes, from appetizers to desserts, paired with carefully selected teas from Shizuoka at local restaurant Kakuya Bessho. To ensure understanding, an English-speaking interpreter will help guide you through the gourmet offerings. Kakuya Bessho restaurant's sleek interior with wide windows that offer a serene view of the greenery outside sets the perfect atmosphere for an unforgettable evening. This restaurant is known for its creative arrangements of Shizuoka's local ingredients, and its commitment to elevating local cuisine to the highest standards. From a rare, fatty breed of horse mackerel from Suruga Bay (known as Kurosawa no aji) to small-batch, locally brewed Japanese sake, all the ingredients are carefully selected to reflect the essence of Shizuoka (exact course menu contents are subject to change depending on availability and seasonality). The chashi tea master adapts to the seasonal menu chosen by the chef to provide a delightful tea pairing that elevates flavors and creates a harmonious marriage of the two symbols of Shizuoka, delicious fresh foods and specialty teas.
