Lovely food in a lively atmosphere. I particularly enjoyed the obanzai set: five little dishes of Kytoto preparations with vegetables. The steamed chicken with ponzu was also superb!

Great food and atmosphere! Recommend booking in advance as it was full when we came in (with a reservation).

The lunch was a shabu shabu course. We went on November and the river experience was not available. We had a great time. The landscapes are amazing. The staff was lovely. Highly recommended

The food was amazing! The depth of flavor and quality of each dish, tickled all of the senses and gave us a great experience! The Chef is so talented and his staff was very kind and attentive. Can’t wait to experience this restaurant again!

An absolutely incredible culinary experience. Despite the language barrier, the chef and I used our phones to translate what we wanted to say to each other about the dishes — and let me tell you, the dishes were absolutely DIVINE. If you have the opportunity to do so, book your chance!

Phenomenal! The restaurant is incredibly intimate - it only fits 7 people. The food was outstanding. And I have allergies - the staff was exceptionally helpful. They took all the stress and worry out. Highly recommend!

Funaokayama Shimizu did an amazing job! He was a one man show cooking for my wife and I. He whipped up some amazing dishes! I highly recommend his restaurant to whoever is in the Kyoto area visiting far or near.

Great food served by a very focused master chef. A little hard to get to, but well worth the effort.

Truly a magical experience. Amazing food in an intimate small-restaurant setting. I will definitely go back next time I’m in Japan.
