Market Tours

A great session with Takako, learning about Japanese home cooking and the benefits for fermented foods. Tasted koji, kombu, mirin and a variety of soy sauces. Takako then made some healthy and delicious dishes, which was a good change from some heavier restaurant meals. The recipes were also provided! Would definitely recommend.

Great informative tour. Guide was very helpful and responsive with my pre tour questions. Also enjoyed the opportunity to “taste test” the different kinds of tuna sashimi.

We had a very good time on the tour, our guide knew about the market and how it works. We had a chance to try all kinds of different foods from sweets to different fish.

The tour was great. Tsujiki is a chaotic and confusing place. Chizeki was very interesting and informative, and his English is very good

Kyoko was so brilliant. She knew so much about everything (not just the fish market!) i loved to see and learn about the market.

Had a great time with this sushi making class! Very easy to meet up with our hosts and they were very gracious. Chef Kazu is a true professional and Aki is an amazing translator. Learned a good deal about the history and culture around sushi and enjoyed an amazing meal to wrap it all up.

This tour was outstanding! Our guide Yoshi was super informative and fun, and we loved trying so many different foods. I would highly recommend this experience!

I wanted to give a review of our tour with Jaye Jaye. She was an amazing guide! She was very friendly, knew what she was explaining and much more. We would definitely book again especially if Jaye Jaye could be our guide. She was the best!

This was a most amazing experience! Everyone was so kind and the chef was excellent, and knowledgeable, explaining every part of how to make tamago and futomaki. This was held in a private kitchen, and it was a warm and welcoming experience. I cannot recommend it highly enough!

Hitota san was friendly and knowledgeable, and the gentleman from the market who accompanied us was also very knowledgeable. We very much enjoyed being in amongst the auction activity!

My family took a morning guided tour to Tsukiji market with Yoshi, and it really exceeded all our expectations! Yoshi is nice, knowledgeable and showed us many different foods and places that we would never manage to find by ourselves. The specialties we tried were amazing and the portions were generous. We couldn’t have asked a better tour, I really recommend it!

We enjoyed our Fukuoka food tour. Our guide Jaye Jaye was terrific. Very friendly and we enjoyed talking with her and learning about her experiences living in Japan. The food stops were great and good value for what we paid. Would have liked more education/info on the location as we were walking. Although to be fair, it was raining, so communication was not ideal. There was miscommunication from the tour company, as we received an email the day before giving us the wrong tour date and time. No response on my email to confirm the day/time. Meeting location description could have been clearer, as Kego is a large park. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour and guide Jaye Jaye.
