We had a great time on the tour. Asami very knowledgeable and generous in sharing information. It definitely felt like we were having an authentic experience, which was a welcome break after the craziness of the big cities. I’d highly recommend taking the tour, tasting the delicious locally brewed soy sauce and sake, and enjoying learning about the history of the town.

A great way to experience a small rural village with a deep history of sake and soy sauce production. Fascinating, educational and tasty!

What an amazing experience! We had such a fun time with Ryo, our guide, who showed us around her home town of Kinomoto. One of our desires for our trip to Japan was to get out a bit from the city and explore/experience the more ‘authentic’ version of the country - this tour wonderfully checked that box. Ryo introduced us to a number of humble yet powerful local women in the area that brew soy sauce and sake, and even introduced us to a fermentation master at a local Temple! One of the women we were introduced to is one of the first female Sake brewers in Japan and the first female brewer in 13 generations (490 years)!!! We also learned how small of a world it really is - our guide studied abroad during high school and went to the school right near my wife’s childhood home. Having studied abroad, Ryo’s English was naturally excellent, so it made communicating with those we were introduced to on our tour so much more fruitful and informative. Thanks so much for the opportunity to experience Kinomoto!
