Experience Details
Hiroshima is a city shaped by history, resilience, and a deep commitment to peace.
While its past is marked by tragedy, today Hiroshima stands as a place of renewal, reflection, and hope.
Exploring the city with a local guide offers meaningful insight into how Hiroshima rebuilt itself and how its people continue to share their message with the world.
This guided cycling tour introduces Hiroshima through the eyes of someone who knows its stories firsthand.
After meeting your guide at Hiroshima Gate Park, a short bus ride from Hiroshima Station, the experience begins at a relaxed pace. You will stop by a modern bakery in the park to enjoy a light pastry, included in the tour fee, before setting off on your bike.
The two-hour bike ride takes you through some of Hiroshima’s most symbolic landmarks, including Peace Memorial Park and Hiroshima Castle. As you cycle along wide streets and riverside paths, your guide shares stories about the city’s postwar reconstruction, peace initiatives, and daily life today.
The pace is comfortable, allowing time to absorb the surroundings and reflect on what you see.
After the ride, the tour concludes with a hearty local dinner. You will enjoy Hiroshima-yaki, the city’s signature take on okonomiyaki, served hot and sizzling at a local restaurant. Layered with noodles, cabbage, and savory toppings, it is a comforting way to end a thoughtful day.
This guided bicycle tour offers a balanced introduction to Hiroshima. It combines history, local perspectives, gentle exploration, and regional food, creating an experience that is both informative and deeply human.
