Hiroshima honors its history through an unwavering commitment to peace, and visiting the city is both inspiring and educational. To better understand the deep history of Hiroshima, the unique perspective of a local guide proves essential.


In this tour, you’ll learn about Hiroshima’s peace initiatives and witness its incredible postwar reconstruction as you cycle through the city, exploring its landmarks, like the Hiroshima Castle and the Peace Park. You’ll hear insights and stories from your local guide about Hiroshima's history and rebuilding, and you’ll finish the day with the city’s signature dish: a sizzling Hiroshima-yaki, the city’s unique take on a Japanese okonomiyaki savory pancake.


Itinerary:

-Meet your guide at the Hiroshima Gate Park, only a bus ride from Hiroshima Station.

-Stop by a modern bakery in the park for a quick snack before cycling (the tour fee includes one pastry).

-Enjoy a 2-hour bike tour, where you’ll cycle through some of Hiroshima’s most symbolic landmarks, like the Peace Park and the Hiroshima Castle, as you listen to the stories behind the postwar reconstruction of Hiroshima from your guide.

-Wind down with a delicious dinner of Hiroshima-yaki (Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki) at a local restaurant.


This guided bicycle exploration of Hiroshima is a great way to see the city, learn about its rich history, and savor its delicious food while hearing the personal portrayals of the city that locals want to share with the world.

Meeting Point and Meeting Time

  • Meet your guide at LUCKY BAKERY in the Hiroshima Gate Park, located less than 15 minutes by bus or tram from Hiroshima Station. More detailed information and a Google Maps link will be provided upon booking.
