Experience Details
There’s more to Osaka than the flashy neon lights of Dotonbori or the many eateries in Namba. Explore the sites locals love, only a short train ride from Osaka Castle. Here, the atmosphere is more nostalgic than modern, with retro shops and restaurants taking you back in time to a bygone era of Japan. Your host will guide you through the alleyways in search of secret bars where you’ll try authentic dishes and get a glimpse of Osaka's nightlife away from the tourist crowds.
Connect with locals, learn interesting tips and Japanese culture etiquette, and enjoy tasting different foods and drinks at completely distinct bars. Your first stop will be a standing izakaya (known as “tachinomi”) where you can see office workers unwinding after work. You’ll then visit a restaurant specializing in yakitori (grilled chicken), a classic izakaya food. Your third stop of the night will be at an izakaya located in an old building, before stopping at a hidden bar to wrap the night.
Along the way, you’ll try staple food and drinks from a night out in Japan, like sashimi, yakitori, and more, as well as sip sake, shochu, craft beer, or your choice of soft drinks. Make unforgettable memories in this nighttime exploration of the lesser-known side of Osaka.
