Experience Details
Step into the heart of Osaka and experience Japanese cuisine through tea, sushi, and ramen in a hands-on class led by a seasoned chef.
Begin in a traditional tea room inside Katsuji’s home, where you participate in a Japanese tea ceremony designed to set a calm, welcoming tone for the experience.
After a brief introduction to the recipes and flow of the class, you move into the kitchen for a practical cooking session.
Learn to prepare sushi from scratch, from perfecting sushi rice to rolling and shaping different styles, while also cooking a comforting bowl of ramen with pork char siu, green onions, and bean sprouts in a rich chicken and soy sauce broth.
Once cooking is complete, sit down and enjoy the dishes you have made.
Your experience ends on a personal note as you receive a custom calligraphy piece created by Katsuji to take home as a keepsake.
Katsuji is a veteran in the Japanese dining scene with 38 years of experience, having run izakayas, sushi restaurants, and ramen shops throughout his career.
Today, he shares his craft through intimate cooking classes held in his home with his daughter, Chiharu.
