Experience Details
Step into a cozy Italian restaurant in Mishima, where Japanese ingredients blend seamlessly with Italian flavors. As you get inside, you will smell the gentle aroma of simmering sauces, fresh herbs, and hints of local sake.
Toshikazu, your host and sommelier with 25 years of experience, greets you with a warm smile and a refreshing welcome drink. He will guide you through a thoughtfully curated sake and wine pairing, or a tea pairing crafted to reflect each selection.
Every sip and bite tells a story: smoky salted bonito from Izu, delicate caviar-like sea grapes from Numazu, and subtly fermented Fujinomiya salmon that reveals rich, layered flavors. A gently sweet soup made from locally grown idomizu tomatoes, tender Shizuoka wagyu beef paired with earthy shiitake mushrooms in a comforting pasta, and Numazu pork roast served alongside fresh seasonal vegetables complete a menu that evolves with the seasons.
Throughout the evening, Toshikazu shares insights about Shizuoka’s local ingredients, their origins, and the stories behind each dish, making the experience as educational as it is delicious. The warm, softly lit restaurant is alive with quiet conversation, the gentle clink of glasses, and the inviting aroma of fresh herbs and simmering sauces, creating an intimate atmosphere that enhances every bite.
By the end of the evening, you leave with a richer appreciation for the harmony between Shizuoka’s local ingredients and Italian culinary artistry.
