Experience Details
Time feels unhurried in this fruit orchard as rows of fruit trees stretch across gently sloping farmland in Totsuka.
This is a family-run orchard where the Shibaguchi family has been growing fruit for generations, tending the land each season with care and deep familiarity.
Upon arrival, the staff welcome you and introduce the fruits available for the day. A basket and simple picking tools are prepared, and you are guided into the orchard.
The air carries a soft mix of leaves, soil, and ripening fruit. Depending on the season, you may find clusters of grapes hanging low, pears weighing down branches, figs softening under the sun, or mandarins glowing among dense green leaves.
Staff shows you how to pick fruit at its best ripeness, pointing out small changes in color and firmness.
Sometimes, sugar content is measured on the spot so you can see how sweetness works beyond appearance. The guidance is simple and relaxed, so you can explore the orchard at your own pace.
Each fruit offers a different way to enjoy the experience. Grapes, pears, figs, persimmons, and kiwi are picked, weighed, and taken home by weight.
Mandarin oranges follow a more relaxed rhythm, with guests able to enjoy all-you-can-eat tastings in the orchard and bring home a small portion as a souvenir.
The atmosphere stays calm throughout, shaped by quiet footsteps on soil, soft conversations with staff, and the gentle rustle of branches as fruit is picked.
This is a hands-on seasonal experience where each visit changes with what the orchard has to offer at that time.
Before leaving, guests often pause among the orchard rows, taking in a simple view that reflects the care behind each fruit, from growth to harvest.
