Midori is a great guide with a lot of recommendations for coffee, food, shopping, etc. These recommendations also aren't limited to Kyoto either, so she is a great resource for therest of your Japan trip.

Had a private tour with Michiko from Omakase Tour. Recommend 100%. Went to three shrines, the Nishki market for lunch at a fish stall, then finished it up at Nijo Castle before heading back to Osaka. Thank you, Michiko!

Our tour today with Madori was amazing. It felt like a friend was showing us around Kyoto. As visitors to Kyoto I doubt we would have found the places Madori took us to. The food and drinks at all 3 places were delicious. Madori didn’t want us to miss out on any experiences while we are in Kyoto and gave us so many great recommendations for restaurants, cafés and local parks. Highly recommend doing the coffee&shopping tour.

I had a wonderful experience with Midori-san. I enjoyed a local tour with her as my guide, and she was very informative, attentive, and considerate of all my needs. Midori-san also runs her cooking classes and offers many other tours. I highly recommend trying her classes to experience authentic Japanese cuisine and learn many fascinating facts about Kyoto. Thank you so much, Midori-san

We've had such an great time! Teruyuki, our guide, was amazing. He came to pick us up at the station, showed us around Ayabe and even gave us advices on what to do and eat in our next destination. Jin, from the lumbering place, was so nice. He explained and accompanied us so well, we where so happy and proud to make our own sake cups! We ate at a very cute and traditional restaurant. The owner was such a nice and warm lady. Finally, we went to the sake brewery. It was really interesting to learn about the sake making process. Thank you so much to you all, especially Teruyuki who made us want to know more about Ayabe! See you again :)

We just had the best day - thank you Teruyuki! The sake cup making was a heap of fun and Jin was a helpful and friendly host. Lunch at Chatsubo Yoshida was delicious and the matcha was wonderful. Our visit to Wakamiya Sake Brewery in the afternoon was an excellent way to finish the day. Delicious sake and lots of interesting info about sake brewing. Teruyuki is a knowledgeable, friendly and fun guide and we will be back to Ayabe soon!

Thank you to our gracious, friendly, and informative guide Ayaka! We wandered around Uji on foot (so beautiful) and ate a green tea themed meal (delicious) then visited a temple and shrine. We had matcha ice cream (hojicha was my favorite) and then we had an informal matcha tea ceremony. We learned a lot of new information in just three hours!

Hiroe was brilliant. Thanks to her our group of grandma, mother, and daughter we got to learn a lot about Japanese culture and Matcha. It was a wonderful day walking around the really beautiful Uji area. We ate buckwheat noodles with matcha, made matcha tea and drink it, and had roasted green tea ice cream. Beautiful area and the shrine was so amazing. Hiroe was so knowledgeable about the area and she did a great job explaining in English. An absolutely wonderful day where we got to do things with Hiroe we never would have been able to understand how to do ourselves.

Explore Kyoto's Vegetarian Delights

Embark on an unforgettable journey through Kyoto with our one-day vegetarian tours. Rich in culture and steeped in history, Kyoto is not only a city of ancient temples and tranquil gardens but also a haven for food enthusiasts, especially those seeking vegetarian options. This tour expertly curates a selection of dining experiences that showcase the finest plant-based delicacies Japan has to offer.

Taste the Tradition

Kyoto is renowned for its traditional cuisine, known as "kaiseki," which places a strong emphasis on seasonal ingredients and intricate presentation. During your one-day tour, you'll have the chance to savor vegetarian versions of this exquisite culinary art form. Experience a carefully crafted meal that highlights the umami-rich flavors of local produce, delicate tofu creations, and fresh seaweed. Each dish tells a story of Kyoto's rich cultural heritage and the skilled craftsmanship of its chefs.

Beyond kaiseki, explore the vibrant world of "shojin ryori," or Buddhist temple cuisine, which is inherently vegetarian. Visit traditional temples where monks have been perfecting this art for centuries, using seasonal ingredients to create meals that are both nourishing and flavorful. This practice not only respects the ingredients but also harmonizes with the seasonal changes, offering a culinary experience that's both spiritual and satisfying.

Immersive Cultural Experiences

As part of the one-day vegetarian food tour in Kyoto, you will not only feast on delicious meals but also immerse yourself in a series of unique cultural experiences. Begin your day with a serene visit to a local market, where you'll learn about the traditional Japanese ingredients used in Kyoto cuisine. Engage with knowledgeable locals and perhaps pick up a few skills in selecting the freshest produce.

After your market exploration, enjoy a tea ceremony, a quintessential Kyoto experience, where you can taste matcha, a finely ground powdered green tea. This ceremony reflects the Japanese values of harmony, respect, purity, and tranquility, enhancing your cultural journey.

The culmination of your tour will be a delightful cooking class. Under the guidance of a professional chef, you'll learn how to prepare simple yet elegant vegetarian Japanese dishes. Take home these recipes and recreate a slice of Kyoto's culinary tradition in your own kitchen.

With the perfect blend of culinary delights and cultural exploration, the Kyoto vegetarian one-day tours offer a unique perspective on this enchanting city. Whether you're a vegetarian seeking exciting new dishes or simply curious about Kyoto's rich food culture, this tour will leave you with cherished memories and perhaps a newfound appreciation for vegetarian cuisine.
