Grilled meat dining in Tokyo’s popular Oshiage area, near the famous Skytree, with fantastic value and a wide range of options.
Restaurant Details
The Oshiage area of east Tokyo is famous for the gigantic Skytree, the tallest building in Japan. The area is becoming ever more popular since the construction of this new icon of the city, and there are some great dining options to enjoy when visiting there.
One of the best is Yakiya. This yakiniku restaurant specializes in the style of charcoal grilled cuisine brought to Japan by Korean immigrants in the Meiji Era. They serve choice cuts of prime wagyu beef such as sirloin and ribs, along with offal cuts like tongue (valued for their supposed invigorating qualities).
The deals here are incredibly reasonable for such high quality meat dining, with a range of other dishes available too — from seafood to kimchi. They also open until 5 AM, meaning you can settle in for as many hours of fine grilled food as you can handle!
