We were seated right at the teppanyaki counter, directly in front of the grill. The room holds only a handful of seats, which makes the whole evening feel private and unhurried. The chef is warm and easy to talk to, the ingredients are clearly high quality, and every dish was delicious. A memorable evening from start to finish. Highly recommended.

Chef Makoto gave us a truly memorable evening at Teppanyaki Mitaki Akasaka. We came through a byFood reservation, and from the first course to the last, the quality of his ingredients and the skill in how he handled them made for a meal that was both delicious and remarkably well balanced. Our heartfelt thanks to Chef Makoto and the team. We recommend this restaurant without hesitation.

An unassuming entrance that is genuinely hard to find, but a warm welcome the moment you step inside. Chef Makoto's technique and timing were remarkable throughout. The sesame tofu converted me on a dish I usually skip, and the Daisen chicken soup was outstanding, with real depth and a lovely thyme aroma. The tasting menu flowed beautifully from course to course, and the chef walked us through each local ingredient before it hit the plate. Good soft drink options too. Thank you to Chef Makoto and the byFood team.

It was one of the highlights during our 2 weeks in Japan. The restaurant is set in a very peaceful neighborhood away from the busy streets of Tokyo. The food was divine and the service is brilliant. Absolutely living up to expectations.

Kudashita Juhaku is like taking an evening stroll down Edo Lane. The presentation will make you feel like royalty. The food and flavors are sublime and feels so nourishing. For us, it was a delightful collection of new foods and experiences. We highly recommend the Rock Fish and Crab for your main course. The people who served us were so sweet and helpful. We will be back and we will bring friends.

We had dinner at Kaiseki Ohara on a Thursday night in September 2024. The location was a bit hard for us to find, but thankfully the wonderful woman who served us was already out on the street waiting for us, showing us inside. It felt like a world away, a quiet room with two tables and a menu with the courses printed in English. The courses themselves were a mix of textures, flavors, and cooking methods. I couldn’t possibly describe them adequately, but there was sashimi, grilled fish, delicate dumplings, and different types of tea. The hospitality and cooking felt both sophisticated and down to earth. A great value and welcome respite from the bustle of Tokyo.

Had a lovely time here. Each of the courses look deceptively simple but lets the ingredients shine. Excellent service and well worth the price!
