Shu and his wife were amazing! Their energy and hospitality were next level. I learned so much about different types of ramen that I will utilize in my home batches. He's also a huge baseball fan, so more fun conversations.

A definite highlight of our trip to Japan. From the moment we walked in, Midori-san showed us great hospitality by serving us tea and sweets. She is very friendly and lively, and we felt right at home. She asked about our itinerary and gave us detailed recommendations. This was close to the end of our Japan trip, but I'd strongly recommend booking this near the start so you can benefit most from her suggestions! The cooking class was great and Midori-san was very patient and clear in her instructions. We made vegan onigiri, gyoza and ramen. The onigiri was surprisingly simple to make and we also received printouts of the recipe. After only being back in the US for a few days, I have already made onigiri for lunch. The gyoza and ramen were equally delicious. Make sure to come with an empty stomach! After we finished the food, she even walked us to a nearby supermarket so we could pick up the ingredients to make them at home. Overall, Midori-san went above and beyond to make this a great experience for us. There are of course many things to do in Kyoto, but as a tourist it's rare to be able to have an experience like this where you are welcomed inside a local's home. I strongly recommend this class.

One of the highlights of our trip. Midori is very well informed and likes to share knowledge about the food and culture. She gives shopping tips not only for food items but also for other hobby-related stuff like knitting or sawing. She even took us to a local supermarket to show what products are available and where to get them. Because Midori prepared the easy stuff in advance the cooking class was able to cover 3 whole recipes with a lot of background info. We should have done the class in the beginning of our trip because of all the good tips. We wish Midori all the best!

We had a very good experience with our guide Shoko. She was so patient, friendly & accomodating, letting us adjust the itinerary to our needs & preferences. The tour itself was fun, using the subway to get around & trying out Osaka specialities. A wonderful time!

If you’re interested in checking out Yatai food stalls in Fukuoka, this is the way to do it! It’s also a great first-night adventure in the city because Bruce is extremely knowledgeable and shares generously. My partner and I spent 4+ hours with Bruce, and we’d do it again in a heartbeat. We walked all over the city and stopped in three different Yatai stalls, eating tapas/pintxos style. Every bite of food and each drink we tried was delicious. It was a great intro to Fukuoka/Hakata, and a perfect way to visit the Yatai stalls, which could be intimidating to navigate for the first time on your own.

This was outstanding fun! We learned more about the time it takes to make the ingredients and the variations of ramen they produce. And then get in there to make your personal choice of ramen, with some funny photo ops! If you get a booking you’ll be happy.

Hakata yatais are WHERE IT'S AT and there isn't a better person to show you the best places to try out than Bruce. I came to know about Bruce through a Youtube video he did for Japan byFood, so I was fairly sure coming into the tour that we'd be well taken care of. And Bruce did not disappoint! The thing about yatais is that their operational hours and days can be very unpredictable, so you need a tour guide who really knows the yatai scene and is not wedded to following a specific plan or script. Our tour was set for a Sunday night, so when we met Bruce, he explained that, although he had a plan in mind, there was a good chance we'd need to improvise along the way because it was a Sunday night. He proved to be right, as we needed to pivot right from the start because the madam running the first yatai he wanted to introduce to us did not set up for the evening. We ended up hitting a total four yatais, which included Ultra C (great oden), "Riverside Restaurant" (cozy izakaya serving some righteous ramen), Tomochan (grilled skewer goodness), and finally Bar Ebi-chan (literally an awesome bar sitting in the middle of the street run by a very professional couple). We chatted, ate, drank and laughed throughout the evening. Before we knew it, we'd been touring for almost 4 hours. Time flew by so quickly. A sign of a great tour and a great tour guide. We'll see you again, Bruce!

Discover the world of halal ramen as you embark on a culinary journey through Japan's unique offerings. Ramen, a staple in Japanese cuisine, is cherished for its rich and flavorful broths, chewy noodles, and exquisite toppings. For those observing halal dietary laws, finding authentic halal ramen can be a delightful experience without compromising your principles. Our curated list of halal ramen food experiences ensures that you can savor the traditional tastes of Japan while adhering to your dietary needs.

The Essence of Halal Ramen

The heart of any ramen dish is its broth, with traditional options including pork, which may not align with halal guidelines. However, with the increasing demand for inclusivity in food choices, many ramen shops now offer halal-certified options. These often use chicken, beef, or vegetarian bases infused with the same depth of flavor that makes ramen so beloved. You can expect toppings like tender halal-certified chicken, perfectly boiled eggs, fresh vegetables, and nori, all beautifully arranged to offer the perfect bite every time. With these halal adaptations, the soul-satisfying essence of ramen is kept intact.

Unforgettable Halal Ramen Experiences

Whether you're exploring the bustling streets of Tokyo or enjoying a cozy neighborhood in Osaka, our selection of halal ramen food experiences gives you a chance to enjoy this iconic Japanese dish without any hassle. Immerse yourself in the aromas of freshly prepared ramen, witness the careful preparation by expert chefs, and indulge in flavors that range from spicy and robust to subtle and creamy. Additionally, some experiences may include interactive cooking demonstrations, allowing you to gain insights into the art of ramen making, an invaluable skill to bring back home.
These halal ramen experiences aren't just about eating; they're about immersing yourself in an integral part of Japanese culture, connecting with locals and fellow travelers, and creating memorable culinary experiences. Whether you're a first-time ramen eater or a seasoned aficionado, these halal offerings provide an extraordinary opportunity to enjoy genuine Japanese flavors in a welcoming environment.
