The wasabi farm experience was phenomenal. A beautiful walk through the woods, as well as education about the plants, animals and geography that affect the growing region was followed by sashimi and beef with freshly grated wasabi right out of the stream. David was a patient and careful guide, and was both thoroughly knowledgeable on the subject of wasabi growing as well as an advocate for more natural wasabi rather than the fake "horseradish" wasabi you get at most restaurants. It is a rather active walk - about 1.7 miles round trip, uphill all the way to the location, so when he says "where a good pair of walking shoes or boots" he's not kidding. We arrived early and enjoyed the local scenery and nature. It's a welcome break just an hour our of Tokyo city downtown. "Take a bath in nature".

We had the BEST time at Akito’s tea tour. Whether or not you enjoy drinking tea you will enjoy this tour!! The tea fields are so beautiful and picturesque, we got to pick tea leaves, tried many delicious teas, and Akito was so lovely and knowledgeable. He knew the answer to every question, and we asked a LOT of questions! Not only did we have so much fun but we learnt a lot. :) Highly recommend!
