Since 2003, the owner-chef at Vicino has made it his mission to share healthy, all-natural Italian cooking focused on the natural flavors of Japan. The goal is “Japanese flavors expressed through Italian food.” For this reason, the chef doesn’t try to shoehorn local produce into original Italian recipes, but rather adapts and modifies Italian cuisine to best serve his delicious local ingredients.

Some of the most successful results of this approach include his squid ink and oyster fritters, and fresh wild boar and pork sausages. The subtle and unostentatious fusion of Italian and Japanese cuisine results in a delicious, nourishing meal which seems designed to put a smile on your face.

The restaurant features a contemporary dining space, which still feels warm and comfortable, with open-kitchen counter seats and regular tables.
