We are so grateful for this experience. We wanted to make some nerikiri back at home, and we felt this was a very good and complete first step into this world. Before the class, we asked to make the sakura and momiji because we really wanted to try them, and Nariko had no problem adapting to our requests. During the class, we made five models: two chrysanthemums (the second one was really difficult), one sakura, one momiji, and one bunny, because it was Tsukimi. Although the second chrysanthemum was quite challenging, it turned out pretty good, and with a bit more practice, the small petals will surely look even better. Nariko’s explanations were very helpful — at first it seemed difficult, but we got used to it, and the nerikiri turned out quite good for our first time making them. Nariko is a really fun and kind person, and I would absolutely love to learn more from her again in the future!

We had an excellent time learning to make nerikiri with Nariko. She was well-prepared and very knowledgeable, and she was able to teach students with a variety of experience levels. It was an excellent class, and the results were both beautiful and delicious.

Our host, Kaori, was very nice and friendly. She patiently explained the steps for all the participants when it was their turn and answered any questions we had. It was very cool that apart from the actual tea ceremony experience, she also introduced us to some of the history behind tea ceremonies. My partner and I enjoyed the experience and would recommend it to anyone looking to experience a tea ceremony in a traditional building in Kyoto.

It was my first time making this kind of sweet. It was a bit complicated, especially the latter parts. However, Nariko-san gave us very detailed demos and informative notes for each step which helped us create and finish each Nerikiri. I recommend trying this experience out!

Huge thanks to Kaori for hosting us at her wagashi school. We learnt how to make Dango, strawberry 🍓 Daifuku and wagashi. Also had them with matcha the traditional way and hojicha tea after. She was really patient with us and we were there for 3 hrs. It was a fun activity to do with my 12yr old daughter and she thoroughly enjoyed it. Kaori also shared she does kids classes and will be teaching onigiris next. She gifted us tea and calligraphy and we could take home leftovers after the class. Can't wait to be back on our next trip. Her plc is not far from Mitaka station and is near Ghibli museum so def worth a trip if u r in the area.

The tea ceremony was a delightful experience. Our hostess was incredibly knowledgeable about the art of tea preparation, and she guided us in making our own matcha using the techniques she taught. We were so inspired that we purchased a matcha whisk and matcha powder afterward to continue practicing at home.

Alina, our guide, was truly exceptional. She had a wealth of knowledge about wonderful vegan experiences in the Ginza area of Tokyo. She also shared her insights into Japanese culture and history that gave us new insights and appreciation for this wonderful country. We highly recommend her to anyone who is interested in experiencing the vegan side of central Tokyo.

Imagine sipping on a delicate matcha latte or biting into a scrumptious matcha-infused pastry, all prepared with the utmost care to adhere to Kosher standards.

Indulge in Matcha Excellence

Matcha, the finely ground powdered green tea, is not just a drink but a way of life in Japan. Its vibrant green hue and unique flavor profile make it a popular choice in traditional tea ceremonies and modern culinary creations. For those observing Kosher dietary laws, finding authentic matcha experiences might seem challenging, but fret not. With the rise in demand for Kosher options, many Japanese venues have embraced the opportunity to offer Kosher-certified matcha delights.

Whether in a traditional tea house or a contemporary café, you'll find a variety of Kosher matcha offerings. Try a frothy matcha latte or matcha ice cream that takes you on a rich journey of taste. There are also matcha-flavored baked goods like cookies and cakes, where the earthiness of matcha complements sweet and nutty flavors, all while ensuring Kosher adherence.

Explore the Art of Matcha in Kosher Culinary Classes

If you’re looking to bring the Kosher matcha experience into your home, consider attending a culinary class that focuses on Kosher-certified matcha recipes. These classes offer a deep dive into using matcha as an ingredient in everyday cooking. From savory dishes to indulgent desserts, learn how to incorporate this versatile ingredient while respecting Kosher guidelines.

Master the art of making matcha tea, infusing it into more than just beverages but also into gourmet dishes that woo the senses and satiate the soul. You can learn techniques such as matcha tempering in chocolates, creating matcha dustings for desserts, and even experimenting with matcha in traditional Jewish dishes, all under the guidance of expert chefs.

Each class reaffirms that adhering to Kosher dietary laws does not mean sacrificing flavor or authenticity. By letting matcha shine through inventive culinary techniques, these food experiences allow you to partake in a truly global fusion of flavors.
