Led by Nagai-san, a certified matcha master, you will immerse yourself in a cultural journey that combines learning, practical activities, and the flavors of exquisite matcha and traditional Japanese confections.
Begin with a wagashi-making workshop, where you will create your own Nerikiri sweets with intricate flower designs. Nagai-san will guide you through the process, sharing the history, types, and seasonal significance of these delicate treats.
Next, witness an authentic Japanese tea ceremony. Nagai-san will demonstrate the ritualized preparation of matcha, showcasing the simplicity, mindfulness, and respect for tranquility that define Japanese tea culture.
Then, try your hand at making matcha yourself. Discover how to prepare usucha, a mild type of matcha, while learning about the nuances of tea, proper etiquette, and insights into its history and cultural significance.
