Despite the name, this Michelin-starred restaurant is actually located in Nagoya. Since 1978, Chez Kobe French has been one of the most highly-regarded French restaurants in the city.

It’s housed in an attractive detached building, constructed in European style. Inside is a brightly lit dining room with a classic atmosphere. The warm hospitality instantly dispels any worry of snootiness associated with fine French dining, making it clear this is a place to relax and simply enjoy fine food.

The menu makes liberal use of rich, delicious sauces which scream traditional French gastronomy. Also of note are the excellent seasonal soups, and the fresh fish selected in person by the staff every day.

You might expect that traditional French haute cuisine like this would cost an arm and a leg, but in reality they price their menus very reasonably, especially for their excellent lunch course.
