Yuko was a great host and taught us how to make Nerikiri in a very easy to understand manner. It was amazing that we, who had no experience in Japanese confectionery making, could make such beautiful Nerikiri!! It was a wonderful experience!! Thank you, Yuko!

I loved my experience with Yuko-San. She was a very sweet lady who wants to make sure you get the best experience possible. The cooking was pretty fast paced but it's because she wants you to have the time slow down and enjoy the sweets you made while drinking a cup of tea and chatting with her. She is interested in you and wants to know about your story. If you learn Japanese before booking this class, you will gain even more from this experience since you will able to connect with her even more. I truly think she makes the experience worth it. It is much better than a step by step Youtube video. It felt more personal. Arigatō gozaimasu Yuko-San

Yuko-san provided us with a wonderful history of Wagashi before the course started and showed us what we would be making. We had so much fun learning about Japanese sweets. I highly recommend stopping here in Tokyo on your next trip. It’s worth it just to explore the beautiful neighbourhood and get to eat delicious s.weets and matcha tea. Yuko was a gracious host.

We had such an exceptional experience! A sincere thank you to our host, Kaoru, who thought through every detail end-to-end to ensure a seamless experience. My family and I thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it - not only the fantastic mochi lesson, but most importantly her company and the time she took to explain mochi's significance in the Japanese culture. This made such a great memory for our trip that our family will cherish for a lifetime. We will book another lesson with Kaoru the next time we are in Tokyo for sure. Thank you again! ❤️

This is the best class for anyone who loves cooking. It is also a new and fun class for those who don't like cooking. Also, this cafe, which hosts this tour, is very friendly and caring to everyone. It has various souvenirs made with kome rice, and it is a very nice cafe that is eco-friendly. I will try to make onigiri in the way they taught me. If you go to Tokyo, Japan, you should definitely take this class. Not only will you have fun, you can also eat your own delicious onigiri. この店最高 :)

I think this course was the only time I fully enjoyed myself in Japan. Her presentation was very informative and her teaching style graceful and motivating. Her husband came around for a chat and he was great, too. After we made the Nerikiri we even got to enjoy some Matcha while getting taught how to drink it properly. Would do another course at her house in a heartbeat! Treat yourself and do it, too!

Exceptional experience! Yuko was so very warm and patient. What are extravagent Japanese desserts, she made it so easy to make and construct beautiful art. The home environment was cozy and peaceful, overlooking the Kanda river. Truly immerse yourself in the authentic making of mochi desserts, learn the history, and get ahooping advice for tools and ingredients. This is a must activity if you like Japanese desserts.

Our nerikiri wagashi-making experience in Tokyo was nothing short of magical. The class was in our instructor Yuko-san's beautiful house with a stunning view of Kanda river and park right across. From the moment we stepped in, we were welcomed with warmth and guided by Yuko-san who made the intricate process of crafting nerikiri—delicate, seasonal Japanese sweets—feel accessible and deeply meaningful. Shaping the confections into beautiful designs, was meditative and surprisingly therapeutic. The class was thoughtfully paced, with clear instructions and all tools provided. Yuko-san made the experience feel so seamless and easy that my husband and I couldn't believe we could make something so beautiful. What made it even more special was the tea ceremony that followed. Sipping freshly whisked matcha while admiring our handmade sweets felt like stepping into a serene moment of Japanese life. Whether you’re a foodie, a culture enthusiast, or simply curious, this class is a must-do in Tokyo. It’s not just about making sweets—it’s about connecting with a centuries-old tradition in the most delicious way possible.
