If you are looking for an authentic ramen making experience that caters to a vegan diet, look no further. I've been to many vegan cooking classes in the US for american dishes and wanted have a true ramen making experience in the heart of it all. Kaori delivered; 15/10 experience! Kaori is an exceptional host, chef, and great person. She was able to provide an experience through the market identifying the ingredients for the ramen and gyoza, open her home to create an exceptional meal, and provided translations to common phrases you need to get around Japan. In addition, she even gave recommendations to local restaurants and shops. My husband and I had such an amazing time making ramen and gyoza and were too full after 😅 it was a highlight of our first trip to Japan. Definitely would recommend to everyone to book this experience before you spend time at any other tourist attraction. This experience beats any view you pay for in the city.

A great session with Takako, learning about Japanese home cooking and the benefits for fermented foods. Tasted koji, kombu, mirin and a variety of soy sauces. Takako then made some healthy and delicious dishes, which was a good change from some heavier restaurant meals. The recipes were also provided! Would definitely recommend.

I had a very enjoyable and educational cooking class at Yuka's home. Everything was explained well, including the background of Shojin Ryori. The visit to the supermarket afterwards was also a real added bonus. Thank you, Yuka, for the wonderful day in your kitchen.

Yuka's class was fantastic! She provided cultural context on shojin ryori traditions which helped bring special meaning to our cooking. I got SO many helpful, practical tips for cooking each element of the meal that I'm so excited to replicate at home. I'm definitely planning on taking more of her classes when I return to Japan in the future.

The cooking class was a great experience! Kaori was a great host. She picked us up at the train station and showed us around in a grocery store to see all the ingredients. Then we drove to her house, a great extra addition and atmosphere to be cooking at someone’s home in Japan. The food was truly delicious ; one of the best ramen I ever had! Great addition to your travel itinerary if you’re into food.

Tokyo is known for marrying traditional Japanese flavors with innovative culinary techniques, offering pescetarians unique experiences to savor. From bustling fish markets to elegant dining establishments, there is something for every pescetarian to indulge in.

The city's famous Tsukiji Outer Market is a must-visit for any seafood enthusiast. Experience the Rich Umami Flavors of Dashi

Dashi, the quintessential Japanese broth, forms the backbone of many traditional dishes. As a pescetarian, you'll find that dashi's primary ingredients—kombu (kelp) and katsuobushi (bonito flakes)—align perfectly with your dietary preferences. This seafood-based broth is celebrated for its deep and rich umami flavor, enhancing everything from soups to sauces and rice dishes. In Tokyo, you can savor a wide array of dishes prepared with dashi, including traditional miso soup and hot pots that offer warming comfort and delightful flavors.

Immerse yourself in the art of making dashi by joining a cooking class led by experienced chefs. These interactive sessions offer insight into the delicate balance and preparation techniques behind one of Japan's essential culinary elements. You'll learn to appreciate the simplicity and depth that dashi brings to Japanese cuisine, adding a new dimension to your pescetarian diet.

Explore Authentic Japanese Dining in Tokyo

Tokyo's dining establishments offer a plethora of opportunities to enjoy pescetarian meals enhanced by dashi. For those seeking a traditional experience, kaiseki dining captures the essence of Japanese culinary artistry through multi-course meals that often feature seasonal seafood. Each meticulously prepared dish is a testament to the balance of flavors, presentation, and seasonal ingredients well-loved in Japanese cuisine.

For a more casual experience, consider visiting izakayas or specialty seafood restaurants where you can relish an assortment of steamed, grilled, or tempura seafood options. Each restaurant provides its own twist on customary dishes, infusing them with dashi to elevate the natural taste of the seafood. Whether you're enjoying a comforting bowl of soba noodles or indulging in a luscious donburi topped with fresh seafood, these dishes highlight Tokyo's commitment to quality and flavor.

With a wealth of pescetarian options that incorporate the rich flavor of dashi, Tokyo promises food experiences unlike any other. Immerse yourself in the authentic flavors and culinary traditions, and discover why Japanese cuisine is beloved worldwide for its harmony and scrumptiousness.
