Experience Details
Just a short walk from Hiroshima’s Atomic Bomb Dome, this intimate experience offers a deeper way to connect with the city’s history, culture, and spirit of resilience.
Through storytelling, local food, and traditional tea culture, you will discover a quieter, more personal side of Hiroshima beyond the well-known landmarks.
Your experience begins with a guided walk led by a licensed Hiroshima Prefecture Government Guide Interpreter.
As you explore Peace Memorial Park, your guide will share stories about Hiroshima before the atomic bombing, the events that followed, and the city’s rebuilding process.
Along the way, you will visit lesser-known monuments often missed by visitors, each carrying its own powerful history and message.
During the walk, enjoy freshly made taiyaki, a fish-shaped Japanese sweet filled with red bean paste, paired with freshly brewed coffee. The simple combination offers a comforting moment as you explore the city’s reflective atmosphere.
After the walk, you will return to the cozy café for a traditional tea ceremony experience. Guided by your host, you will prepare and whisk your own bowl of matcha while learning about the meaning behind this long-standing Japanese custom. The experience encourages mindfulness, respect, and quiet connection through tea.
Inside the café, paintings of the Atomic Bomb Dome and Miyajima help capture the spirit of Hiroshima and its surrounding region.
Before leaving, you will also receive a small souvenir, such as a mug or postcard, as a reminder of your time in Hiroshima.
Blending history, conversation, local flavors, and cultural tradition, this experience offers a thoughtful introduction to Hiroshima through both reflection and hospitality.
