Experience Details

Known for their colorful and intricate composition, Japanese bento box meals are an impressive display of culinary skill and imagination. In this workshop, try your own creative take on bento by learning to assemble a meal with fresh and seasonal ingredients. Choose between a kawaii bento inspired by your favorite anime characters or Shokado bento, a more traditional variation from Kyoto known for its elegant presentation and careful balance.

Guided by expert hosts, you’ll cook several tiny dishes to pack a mix of flavors into the bento box, and complete your creation with an intricate design to ensure your bento looks as good as it tastes. Common bento dishes in this program include tamagoyaki (Japanese-style rolled omelet), karaage fried chicken, edamame beans and tofu salad. However, ingredients change seasonally, much like most bento offered in Japan, so you can expect a fresh, varied bento meal.

Once the cooking is ready, enjoy your meal and learn insights about Japanese food etiquette and manners from your friendly local host. This experience takes place right next to Tokyo Tower, so you can continue exploring the area and take in the wonderful views.
