Experience Details
Ever wondered what it feels like to make real ramen and gyoza from scratch in Osaka, the heart of Japan’s food culture?
This hands-on cooking experience takes you inside a local kitchen where you will learn the techniques behind two of Japan’s most loved comfort foods, guided by a chef who brings both skill and personality to the table.
Your experience begins with a simple orientation to Japanese cooking basics, then moves into the kitchen for a fully interactive session.
You will start by making fresh ramen noodles from scratch, kneading, rolling, and cutting the dough until you get the perfect chewy texture.
From there, you will prepare a rich broth, choosing between a classic shoyu (soy sauce) base or a creamy tonkotsu (pork bone) option. Vegetarian-friendly choices are also available.
Next, you will learn how to make gyoza, shaping and folding dumplings before pan-frying them until golden and crisp. Along the way, you will pick up small techniques that make a big difference in texture and flavor.
Once everything is ready, you will sit down for a relaxed 1-hour tasting session to enjoy your ramen and gyoza.
Drinks such as sake, beer, or soft drinks are included, making it a satisfying end to the cooking experience.
Leading the class is Satoshi, an Osaka-born chef fluent in English, Japanese, and Spanish. He shares not only cooking techniques but also local stories, humor, and insights into Osaka’s food culture, creating a warm, engaging atmosphere throughout the session.
