Noriko is a wonderful, great, friendly and funny lady. She has a lot of knowledge about Japanese history and loves to share that. She’s an excellent kimono-sensei (teacher), has a great selection of very precious kimonos, also in big sizes. She’s a wonderful matcha teacher; serves delicious green tea with traditional Japanese sweet, while she explains the history of tea ceremonies.

The kimono dressing and Japanese tea ceremony was a wonderful, immersive experience. Being dressed in a traditional kimono was a unique way to connect with Japanese culture, and the tea ceremony that followed was just as fascinating. The host’s enthusiasm brought each step to life, and I learned so much about the traditions. A truly special experience I’d recommend to anyone wanting to explore Japanese culture in a beautiful, meaningful way.

I attended the private tea ceremony hosted by Aya with three friends. The experience was lovely, she was a delight to hear the culture of tea ceremonies from as well as patient about teaching us the ceremonial procedures. It was also great to hear her personal stories about Japan and the intricacies of tea and tea ceremonies. She was also very accommodating when one of my friends was unable to sit on the tatami mats by offering to get a chair for her. The atmosphere to her home was lovely, and the tearoom itself. She also took many pictures which we did not expect but are very grateful for. Overall a fabulous tea ceremony experience, and we couldn’t have imagined a better taste (both literally and figuratively) of Japanese culture!

Discover the Tranquil World of Vegan Wagashi Tea Ceremonies

Japan offers a beautiful blend of tradition, culture, and culinary art, particularly in its captivating tea ceremonies. If you are a vegan and have a penchant for Japanese sweets, you are in for a delightful surprise. Vegan Wagashi Tea Ceremonies present a harmonious blend of elegant sweets and the exquisite ritual of tea preparation and consumption. Wagashi, traditional Japanese confections, are beautifully presented and often accompany the soulful practice of a tea ceremony, ensuring an immersive cultural experience.

Savor the Delicate Flavors of Vegan Wagashi

Wagashi are famous for their seasonal aesthetics and subtle sweetness, crafted meticulously from plant-based ingredients like red bean paste, rice flour, and agar. These exquisite sweets embody the ethos of "Wabi-Sabi," embracing simplicity and imperfect beauty. Vegan Wagashi is no different; these confections exclude any animal products, ensuring that vegans can savor these traditional delights without compromise. The artisanship involved in creating each piece makes every bite a spectacle, not just pleasing to the palate but also the senses. They not only reflect the ongoing seasons but also symbolize the deep respect for nature's fleeting beauty.

Immerse in the Art of the Vegan Tea Ceremony

Engaging in a vegan tea ceremony provides a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. This tranquil experience often unfolds in a traditional Japanese setting where guests are encouraged to detach from worldly concerns. The ritual begins with the host preparing a matcha, a form of powdered green tea, ensuring that every movement is graceful and intentional. As a participant, you are invited to enjoy the vibrant green matcha alongside a carefully selected piece of Vegan Wagashi, highlighting the confections' understated sweetness and enhancing the bitterness of the tea. The ceremony is a thoughtful and meditative practice, promoting mindfulness and appreciation for the present moment.

Whether you are a seasoned vegan or new to the lifestyle, the vegan Wagashi tea ceremony stands as a wonderful exploration of Japanese cultural practices. It’s a unique opportunity to taste traditional sweets, engage in a historical ceremony, and celebrate a lifestyle that respects the Earth and its offerings. This experience is bound to leave a lasting impression, providing not just flavorful memories but also a deeper understanding of Japanese culture and its culinary philosophy.
