A great tour with a knowledgeable guide, Brian. He’s American so obviously speaks perfect English. The walking route is beautiful and the temples are well worth the visit from Kyoto.

Uncovering Uji: Premium Tea, Shrines & Spirituality in Kyoto

We went to Yuka an for a wagashi making class with Atsuko. She was such a good teacher that our sweets actually looked pretty close to her beautiful examples! We then took part in a tea ceremony and were delighted to be able to choose our bowls from the excellent collection of antique tea bowls they have, including learning about the history of each one. We would definitely recommend Yuka an to anyone looking for a tea ceremony or wagashi making experience. It was the last thing we did before flying home and was a perfect end to our holiday in Japan.
