Experience Details
Become a ramen-making master at this intensive cooking class! You’ll learn how to make ramen and gyoza in a contemporary restaurant in Meguro, where you’ll get the full chef experience. Discover the history of ramen, handmake the noodles, craft the perfect broth, then move onto the gyoza. Andrew ‘Baba Ramen’ Rowe is a seasoned ramen chef passionate about sharing his noodle-forward skills through his intensive cooking classes in Tokyo. He moved from England to Japan with ramen-led dreams and channeled these ambitions into his ramen-making brand and series of cooking classes. Your culinary masterclass occurs at Richill, a modern restaurant in Tokyo’s Meguro ward. Your faithful host–Andrew–and his seasoned assistant will greet and seat you before briefing you on the history of ramen, gyoza, and Japanese cooking. Noodle full of knowledge, it’s time to put your newfound skills into practice! You’ll start with the ramen–from crafting the perfect noodle and umami-packed broth to mastering the art of toppings. What’s better than a bowl of mouthwatering handmade ramen? A bowl of mouthwatering handmade ramen AND pillowy, freshly-fried gyoza. Roll the gyoza-wrapper dough, prepare the fillings, then toss into a pan to fry. Making ramen and gyoza may seem daunting, but fear not! Although this is an intensive, hands-on cooking experience, your hosts are professionals who pride themselves on providing fun and engaging cooking experiences. Cooks of all skill levels are welcome, and you'll leave with ingredients to recreate a bowl of authentic ramen at home! Class flow: Meet at Richill Restaurant in Meguro Class introduction and ramen info session Ramen: Handmake ramen noodles, broth, toppings, then assemble Gyoza: Handmake gyoza wrappers, fillings, then fry Sit back, relax, and enjoy your hard-earned meal Noodles from a packet?
