Experience Details

There’s no better place to learn about sushi than Japan, particularly the northern island of Hokkaido, known for its exceptionally fresh seafood.

In this family-friendly sushi-making class in Sapporo, let Yuki, a friendly local, show you how to make sushi rolls and complement your meal with another Japanese home-cooking staple: onigiri rice balls!

Immerse yourself in washoku, or traditional Japanese cooking, led by Yuki, a professional cooking instructor. Yuki is a washoku expert who draws from her training with a seasoned chef who prepared food for the Japanese imperial family and local celebrities.

Yuki herself has made several appearances on TV and enjoys spreading her passion and knowledge for traditional Japanese cuisine. She channels this energy in her classes at her home in Sapporo.

Learn how to make cute and appetizing sushi rolls and complement your meal with an additional dish. By default, this will be onigiri (rice balls), one of the most classic rice dishes across the country.

But, if you’d like an alternative, you can make other dishes by selecting the Option Package above (options include spinach with sesame seed dressing or rolled tamagoyaki omelet served with miso soup.) If you choose this option, Yuki will also teach you a few insights on how to make Japanese bento (packed meals) so you can apply them next time you challenge yourself in your kitchen.

This fun and informative class concludes with a delicious meal with Yuki, whom you can ask all your pressing questions about both life in Sapporo and the intricacies of Japanese cooking.
