Restaurant Details

The Kyoto-born kaiseki cuisine is a thoroughly Japanese style of dining. It borrows its service philosophy from tea ceremony, and depends heavily on the use of fresh seasonal ingredients used with respect towards nature. At Shiorian Yamashiro you can enjoy an authentic Kyoto experience. The chef has experience in Japan’s old capital, and summons up the spirit of the city beautifully at his corner counter. The meal is strictly omakase (chef’s choice), but the dishes will be timed to match your pace. The particular offerings change regularly, but you can expect a range of sashimi, grilled dishes, soups, and more. The house-blend dashi stock which underpins it all is fantastic, as is the beautiful hassun platter. The counter is intimate, with only six seats available, but private rooms are also available to accommodate groups of guests. Michelin Stars: 2020 - 1 Michelin star 2021 - none
