I really enjoyed it! It was an easy-to-make hand-rolled sushi bento. Both the side dishes and the dessert were delicious!

"We would also like to thank you again very much, dear Miho-san, for this first glimpse into Japanese cuisine and culture.
Your friendly, calm and humorous manner was very pleasant.
Thank you also for your patience in answering all our questions. Many of the foods and their preparation that you showed us were completely new to us- but we found that very interesting.
You had prepared so much for us- I personally quickly lost my fear of embarrassing myself. Thank you so much for that, Miho-san!
Your cooking class was a wonderful day for us, one that we will always remember."

This experience in Yawatahama completely was so memorable. We came to pick mikan and make marmalade and left with so much more. Yoko-san and Gen-san are incredible hosts. Their farm and restaurant are so special and you can see the care and effort put into growing and harvesting Mikan and making marmalade. Naomi-san’s English interpretation was great and let us connect with everyone beyond just learning the process. Our tour guides from Yawatahama tourism were also amazing. Everyone answered all our questions about the mikan, the marmalade making process, and the farm. Picking mikan straight from the trees and then turning them into marmalade was so fun and fulfilling. The food prepared fresh from the restaurant was delicious and picnic style meal overlooking the sea was lovely. The whole day felt relaxed, genuine and so authentically Japanese. We would love to come back again, hopefully during peak season in November. If you’re visiting Ehime or Shikoku, or honestly even japan in general, do not skip this experience. 🍊

We loved this workshop so much. The space is beautiful and so inspiring. We ended up taking a long watch on the trail through persimmon groves and found so many gems along the way including a magical in home tea house. Make the trip! It’s worth it.

It was a great family activity, and a great addition to our focus on food in Osaka. It was fun and we learned at lot. We went out in the following days in search of some of the tools and have plans to make bentos together back home. Instructor was friendly, funny, and informative. It will be a lovely memory
