5/5 amazing tour! From the moment we arrived at the meeting point, to the time we were seen off to the station, we felt so welcomed and cared for. We began with a visit to the local shrine, then were introduced to the world of Golden Gai, with its hundreds of bars packed into winding alleys. After learning the history of the area, we were taken to Ryo’s bar and tried some of the best Japanese whiskies we’ve ever had! The drinks were served with very tasty snacks, as well as details about each pour. Through every step, Ryo and her friends took pictures and chatted with us, giving us a view into life here in Golden Gai. We left feeling like we had made new friends, and would absolutely book again next time we’re in Japan. Thank you, Ryo!

I researched a number of options for a sake brewery tour while in Japan on a cruise to various ports. I picked this one and I'm so glad I did! Hiroko-san was a gem of a guide, she was very sweet and nice, and has a great personality that really comes through as well. She was very knowledgeable about the four breweries we visited over our afternoon with her and we learned so much both from her and from the museums inside the breweries we visited. Of course we tasted quite a bit of sake which was very fun and we even had a stop for some tasty tofu to try with hot sake, which was delicious. I cannot recommend this tour or our guide Hiroko-san highly enough. "Hero", many thanks for a great afternoon! It was really the highlight of our time in Japan to meet you and spend that time together. Arigato! -Normandy Madden

We had a fantastic time at our tasting thanks to Hayato, the man who led our experience!! He was very knowledgeable and generous with his time, including sharing recommendations for bars and things to do during the rest of our stay. We had a lot of fun learning about the history of Japanese whiskey and experiencing the nuances in taste among the different makers and bottles. Would highly recommend!!!

Highly Recommended! A Unique Vegan & Sake Pairing Experience Finding great vegan food in Japan can be tough, but this experience was exceptional! The expertly paired sake enhanced each dish, from the rich soy meat Peking duck to the flavorful tan-tan noodles. The sommelier was incredibly knowledgeable, making the tasting both delicious and educational. Plus, the masu sake cup souvenir was a great touch! For sake lovers and plant-based food enthusiasts, this is a must-try in Tokyo. Don’t miss it!

This was a very informative and excellent experience. The folks at the Japan Sake and Shochu Information Center are very knowledgeable and represent the community of Sake and Shochu makers professionally and with respect for the integrity of the art. We learned so much in one hour and we walked away with meaningful and valuable gifts that we were not expecting at all. The presentation packed enough information that gave us an appreciation for the complexity of the characteristics of sake and left us inspired to learn more. Definitely choose to learn from these industry experts. You won’t see sake the same after this.
