We had a wonderful time and experience at Sakura san’s class. The class was very well organised and structured. Our nine year old is very shy and Sakura san approached her with patience and after a while she felt comfortable. We’re so glad that we did this and recommend the class wholeheartedly. Thank you for the great time, Sakura san🌸

Yuko was a great host and taught us how to make Nerikiri in a very easy to understand manner. It was amazing that we, who had no experience in Japanese confectionery making, could make such beautiful Nerikiri!! It was a wonderful experience!! Thank you, Yuko!

I loved my experience with Yuko-San. She was a very sweet lady who wants to make sure you get the best experience possible. The cooking was pretty fast paced but it's because she wants you to have the time slow down and enjoy the sweets you made while drinking a cup of tea and chatting with her. She is interested in you and wants to know about your story. If you learn Japanese before booking this class, you will gain even more from this experience since you will able to connect with her even more. I truly think she makes the experience worth it. It is much better than a step by step Youtube video. It felt more personal. Arigatō gozaimasu Yuko-San

My sisters, cousin, and I took the mochi sweets class with Sakura san. It was an absolutely amazing experience! Sakura san is an exceptional teacher and we learned so much from her. Her step by step lesson was perfect and I am excited to bring home everything I have learned. The different types of mochi were delicious. She even gave a lesson on the history of mochi. I am so grateful for this course and I highly recommend it for everyone. It was a great experience making a cultural dish. Thank you so much Sakura san!

Yuko-san provided us with a wonderful history of Wagashi before the course started and showed us what we would be making. We had so much fun learning about Japanese sweets. I highly recommend stopping here in Tokyo on your next trip. It’s worth it just to explore the beautiful neighbourhood and get to eat delicious s.weets and matcha tea. Yuko was a gracious host.

Discover the Art of Wagashi in Tokyo

Wagashi, traditional Japanese sweets, offer not just a treat for the taste buds, but a visual feast for the eyes. Made from natural ingredients such as sweet red bean paste, rice flour, and agar, these exquisite confections reflect the beauty of the changing seasons and the meticulous artistry of their creators. In Tokyo, a city that harmoniously blends tradition with innovation, you can immerse yourself in the delightful world of Wagashi through a variety of unique food experiences that cater to both beginners and connoisseurs alike.

Workshops and Hands-On Classes

One of the most enriching ways to appreciate Wagashi is by participating in a workshop or hands-on class. These experiences provide the perfect opportunity to learn from skilled artisans who will guide you through the delicate process of crafting these intricate sweets. Often held in serene tea houses or cozy studio spaces, these classes teach the basics of Wagashi-making, including the preparation of key ingredients and the careful shaping of each sweet. Whether you're forming sweet mochi or shaping elegant floral designs, these workshops provide a memorable and educational experience designed to enrich your understanding of Japanese culture.

Tasting Tours and Café Hopping

For those looking to indulge in Wagashi without stepping into the kitchen, tasting tours and café hopping offer the ideal solution. Tokyo boasts an array of Wagashi shops and cafés, each promising a distinct array of sweets.
