Tradition meets novelty at an Osaka sushiya which presents classic Edomae sushi alongside imaginative side dishes and sumptuous desserts from a dedicated pastry chef.

Restaurant Details

Located in central Osaka, this inventive sushiya prides itself on its welcoming atmosphere, and a creative streak that will give even the most seasoned sushi connoisseur something new to sample. The core of each meal here is a series of delicious nigiri sushi pieces, tailored to the season and the tastes of each guest. The ingredients are sourced fresh every morning from Osaka’s central seafood market, and represent the best the city has to offer. Alongside the tantalizing and traditional nigiri, you’ll also find a host of inventive appetizers, such as the summer special: scallops with couscous and sea urchin sauce. Some even incorporate premium wagyu beef. Sushi Tanamachi also may well be the only sushi restaurant in Japan that employs a dedicated pastry chef, who ends every meal with a sweet flourish—a bespoke dessert tailored to match each day’s course. With counter seating for 10 and private rooms available, Sushi Tanamachi is an ideal spot for an evening out with friends.
